hello!
there are officially only 23 hrs and 53 minutes left of 2006. now, isn't that just so exciting?
somehow, i always find the start of a new year super exciting and everything. something which most people don't. in fact, i would even go as far as to say that new year's eve is my favourite day of the year. it's so exciting lah. new year, new things, new everything. ((:
okay nevermind about the new year, because i'll still have another 365 days to talk about anyway, starting tomorrow. but i only have less than one full day to talk about this year! so i shall. haha. (okay, i have no originality, so sue me. -.- haha.)
come let's start with like......the end of last year. since it's the end of this year. and like it makes (some small amount of) sense to talk about the year that has passed in terms of like one year. which makes it like. end of last year. to end of this year. 1 year. see? okay haha moving on.
last december:
hmm. it was damn exciting. end of sec 4. i slacked like mad the whole hols. got a call from klarissa during a gathering at shree's house. i couldn't be bothered to talk to her then, so i told her i was busy and told her to call back. haha. then she called back some time later and told me i was in xanthus. i was damn excited. about orientation. and j1. and rj. and everything. mainly because rgs got a bit sickening towards the end. :/
january:
oh. new year's party was quite happening. lots of dancing and drinking. very amusing. got home at like 5+ am. haha. was damn nervous. 'cause school starting soon. 1st day of school. went to school with sindhu and pibs. so exciting. sindhu was late (she was late most of the other days we went together too) and we got to school just on time, i think. haha.
orientation was quite cool. i spent it on an adrenaline rush or something, super high and bouncy and everything. enjoyed it thoroughly. heh. xanthus ftw. ((: haha. end of orientation. made plans for j1. wanted to max out j1 and do ten gazillion things at the same time. haha. january was seriously hilarious lah. felt a bit shitty though, being so busy and so un-able to see all the blaekes. but overall, a good month.
february:
i think feb was a bit of a O.o month. i cannot really remember anything much that happened in feb. it was a lot of adjusting, i think. i got into vball, and had trainings, which i enjoyed. and i had to figure out how the hell i was gonna manage studies and vball and friends and family and everything at the same time. :/ as a result, i really cannot remember anything much. haha.
i remember! my sister's birthday party! 21st. surprise party. it was quite exciting. i think she enjoyed herself a lot. haha. ((: yay for parties!
march:
ah. a very interesting month. start of like nominations for council. that sorta was like the last 'slack' month i had in rj. seriously. haha. i remember chloe and me going to ms kaur and mr tan and mr vadi and trying to get them to recommend us as council nominees. we were so desperate to get into council. i was anyway. but we still had a lot of free time, to spend with the class and everyone and to slack around and do nothing much. haha.
march was pretty good. got used to the whole ridiculous lecture-tutorial system (which i still think is the most ineffective system invented) and sorta managed to cope, i think. that doesn't mean i passed whatever math class test that they had - i failed pretty spectacularly. haha. but it wasn't that terrible - we all did pretty badly together. haha.
april:
council elections. so very exiting. campaigning was like a super fun time of rj life, seriously. even though we stayed back in school up till like 9pm, painting our neon green banners, got our proposals rejected three times in a row before finally being given the green light to go ahead, and got into hell lot of trouble for our neon knot project ideas, it was good. very fulfilling, like. and my campaign group was seriously a hell lot of fun - fnck: farhanis, nelson, crunch and kaixiong. haha. it was seriously awesome. ((:
and then, yay we made it to council! all four of us. and chloe and wt ang jieliang and reshma and shree. it was exhilarating. to know that we all made it to council together. one of the happiest times of my life, seriously. obviously, then we didn't know what we were getting ourselves into, but yay us anyway. haha.
may:
council invest and match support. one of the craziest times of rj life so far. but then again, it was also one of the most fun times of rj life. haha. i remember us complaining about mms at 7.20 and gms that lasted till 8+. haha. so we got invested. and plunged straight into the match support season. madness, pure madness. missed hell lot of lessons that period. like leave class at 12 and just happily miss like 4 lessons a day. haha. we paid for all those missed lessons later on, but at that time it was exciting. going for match support and cheering till we all sounded like men, even the less manly amongst us. it was something i've never experienced before, and it was truly amazing. honestly. (:
june:
supposed to be a time for winding down and relaxing, but there was sangamam. and ccal camp. haha. ccal camp was super fun and exciting. nothing short of awesome, actually. iwan b1. haha. man that was a great time. then came back from bintan and preped for sangamam fashion show which was great. haha. had a lot of fun lah - duh, blaekes. haha. i remember being damn super high all the time and laughing a lot. haha. ((:
and i was supposed to use june to study for cts, but obviously i didn't. duh. slack slack slack. then slack a bit more. i studied for 4 days. 2 days chem, 2 days (sea) hist. i walked into the math paper totally unprepared, and winged ki.
july:
haha. obviously take cts, then must get back results right. haha brilliant results i got. subb. haha. take your pick which one i got a U for. A to U. brilliant deprovement, i tell you. -.- haha. spent the week after that chasing people off to study for promos and got told off for being paranoid. heh. and then there was match support season again. which was super exciting. as usual. spent a few weeks sounding like a guy again. haha. "i am more man than most men" was my catch phrase then. haha.
august:
yay my birthday. haha okay nothing exciting lah. (OH i remember what happened in feb, let me go update) and a lot of other birthdays also. hmm. i cannot really remember what happened in august, even after reading my old blogposts (which are quite funny, even if i say so myself). haha. i believe we tried to start studying for promos which were like. around the corner. haha. a month or so away. haha.
september:
mad studying for promos. just mug and mug and mug and mug like mad forever. in the library in the canteen in random classrooms until 7pm until 8pm until forever pm. we just went mad studying. we even gave up our weekly friday frisbee sessions lah. -.- but it was quite fun studying lah. 'cause we all studied together. i obviously didn't finish studying any one thing properly. only managed to finish bits of everything. :/ my mantra was: i know a bit about everything, i will not fail. (: well, it worked. somewhat. haha. 4 Bs okay, no joke.
october:
open house prep? slack after promos. it was seriously daaaaamn slack. i mean, after like a month plus of mugging like mad, it felt damn FREE. we all felt quite strange not having things to study for, i think. i know i did. but that didn't motivate me to pay attention to lectures or tutorials or anything like that. haha. lazy lazy me. ((: yeah lah. so slacked the last month of school away, and when school ended, it was quite :/ okay i dunno what that means, but yeah. and then start oprep!
november:
oprep! and oprep! and more oprep! haha it was seriously daaaaaaaaamn fun. dry run 1, highlights meetings, umm i dunno what else! we just were in school a lot, doing a lot of things for orientation and prep for next year and trainings and everything. i spent every single day in school, except for sundays. and no, that is not an exaggeration. not by much (one or two days max) anyway. haha. and retreat. which was hilarious and fun and memorable and everything i'd ever dreamed it would be. drift, drift, drift! hahahhahaha.
december:
more oprep! haha yay oprep. haha. dry run 2. which was infinitely more fun than dry run 1. and ogl skit prep. and lots of highlights prep. haha. back in school a lot again. went vietnam during blockout. was great fun, lots of photowhoring. haha. then slept two days away because i was so tired. no handphone, no(t much) msn, just eat, watch tv, read, sleep. it was blissful. then back to oprep-ing. haha. late nights in school, even later nights online. haha. and now i'm here.
and that pretty much sums up my 2006. i realize my descriptions kinda became very :/ after a while. i think i'm tired. as always. haha. nevermind. let me finish up.
okay yeah. 2006 has been one hell of a year. seriously. i enjoyed (almost) every minute of it, and it was great, overall, despite some ups and downs. and that brief description of my year in general really doesn't do justice to all the other things that happened in the year. like all our various random og gatherings, and friday class lunch dates and training in the hot sun, and EVERYTHING. there's just so much that has happened this year and i'm really glad for all of it. ((:
the other day, during ogl training, we were reflecting and ms. adeline tan asked if we could go back in time and do over the year, what we would do differently. and my answer was nothing. honestly. i cannot think of a single thing that i want to change about this year, because it's really been great. (however cliche that may sound.)

it'll be a super long list if i mention everyone individually, so i shall do it in batches. haha.
to my family (of whom only my sister reads this), thanks for putting up with all the late nights and loud music and sleeping in on sundays and not doing anything much around the house. and for the good food and love and care and concern, all the time. and the cash, of course. haha.

thanks for everything. the laughter during tutorials and breaks and bridge games and mahjong games and lame jokes and everything. j1 wouldn't have been half as great without you guys. special thanks to my pw group cheryl daphne javine and wt, for all the nonsense, getting high on chocs in wts house, getting high on kfc in wts house, gossip session at daphne's house, go super mad making clark quay in school on sundays and everything. yay rj 235. for making life at rj so far that much more meaningful. for being great friends, even if i don't know you guys all that well. thanks for being such wonderfully fun and funny and enthusiastic people to work with, no matter what the circumstances. here's to the future. ((:

for putting up with all my nonsense, for being there at 2am, for just being online when i needed to bitch or whine or complain or whatever. seriously. i wouldn't know what to do without you. and i really don't tell you enough, but thank you, for EVERYTHING.

thank you for being part of my life. because it has been wonderful. ((:
