it's 2.44am, sunday, 9th july now. i'm waiting for the germany-portugal match to begin. due to my very short attention span, i have spent the past (approximately) six hours being bored. however, i am still not cured of my boredom, nor can i be bothered to fix this boringness. therefore, i am still very bored, and have nobody to blame for it other than myself.

on a different, less bored note, yesterday, or rather, friday, someone told me about the existence of this blog - gaasip mangammas. i was highly amused by the vivid description of the blog, which apparently seemed to discuss some friends of mine. however, by the time i actually managed to look for the blog, it had mysteriously vanished, and i had to obtain a copy of the entries from another friend of mine. it was, to give the writers' credit, terribly amusing, and provided me with relief from boredom for quite some time. i don't know what sparked off this seeming animosity between us "black baeku"s and them, but i found it all incredibly hilarious and spent quite some time engaged in trying to read the romanized tamil. thank you, maanga, thenga and nongu for the entertainment. that's just my perspective on this issue which has caused quite a bit of a stir among us, and i know that some people are very annoyed (to put it mildly) with this whole thing and feel that it was derogatory, mean, nasty, etc. for the "gaasip mangammas" to have written such things about the rest of the indians (if my interpretation of the people mentioned in codes in the blog entries was right). well, i think that it was all meant in good fun, and even if it wasn't and there was a certain underlying malicious sentiment in the blog entries (after all, the "sangu-by-mom" entry wasn't exactly the most flattering thing you could have read) i think we should all just have a good laugh about it (it was really quite funny, if you think about it) and forget about it, instead of blowing it up to gigantic proportions and making a big fuss about it. after all, blaekes or mangammas, we're all still YINDIAN, no?

alright. time to go watch the germans kick some portugese butt. (:

-crunch (who is still quite amused)
